Summer Projects

Building wildlife nesting boxes
Building lasagna garden beds

We'll be building a few wildlife nesting boxes to install up in our trees. This will include making a nesting box each for brushtail possums, microbats, wood ducks, and black cockatoos.

We'll also be building a series of lasagna garden beds in the backyard. Lasagna garden beds are no-dig, no-till beds that utilise layers or sheets of organic material to create rich, nutritious soil. The beds will compost over summer with a cover crop after which autumn herbs and veggies will be sown in.
